After completing her Masters in vocal performance at Sheffield University in association with Opera North, Penelope moved to London to pursue her vocal studies. She was awarded the Lilian Baylis Scholarship to continue her training with English National Opera where she performed at the Royal Opera House, Clore Studio.
Since her training, Penelope has been in high demand as soloist, and tours regularly both nationally and internationally with her solo performance engagements.
Opera companies she has worked with recently have included Pop Up Opera, Handmade Opera and Opera Rustica. She is a regular recitalist and oratorio soloist, in and around London. Her festival work often takes her further afield to Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Essex and Sheffield.
Organisations she has worked with include; BBC Singers, Saffron Walden Music Association, Haverhill Choral Society, Oxford and Cambridge Music Club, London Conducting Masterclasses and the Maldon Festival. Her prizes have included the Julian Payne Scholarship, finalist for the Patricia Routledge Competition (AESS) and the David Clover Prize for English Song.
